1st Ottershaw Scouts “Community Challenge” at Meath School

1st Ottershaw Scouts have been busy working towards their “Community Challenge” badge as part of The Chief Scout Gold Award.

They had three challenges to complete at Meath School, Ottershaw. The first was to clear the frontage of rubbish and the second to clear some of the undergrowth in the woodland at the back of the school in preparation for a cycle path to be laid for the Meath School children.

Last but certainly not least, the scouts were asked to help clear the ‘pond area’ which was very overgrown. A minimum of 6 hours is required to achieve the badge and many of the scouts were asking if they could return to complete their projects as they ran out of time.  One of the working crew, Dominic said ” it is quite fun and enjoyable”.
